This Week’s Everyday Adventures & A Few Links

Happy Weekend

Happy Spring Break week everyone! My office has been unusually quiet as people have headed out for a little break with their families. This weekend, I will be participating in some St. Patrick’s Day activities and enjoying the beautiful weather that has suddenly appeared in Dallas.

This week, my adventures included:

+ Cooking my first Thai recipe ever that was on the cover of Bon Appetit. I really love Thai soups that have coconut milk in them, so I thought I would take a stab at it. I would say it was a success!

+ Having so much extra energy because of the added hours of sunshine each day! I have spent some quality time on restaurant patios (including trying this one), taking some long walks outside and making a couple of shopping runs to my favorite areas.

+ Guest posting on Elizabeth’s blog about my “Perfect Day in Punta del Este.” If you haven’t already had a chance to check it out, you should!

Up Coffee Table

I’m hoping that this will be the weekend that I get a grip on my schedule, have some serious R&R and really just get organized. So far, the stars seem to be aligning for that to happen and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever been quite so excited to just be lazy. Wishing you all a very happy Friday!

This week, my adventures included:

+Spending last weekend in Houston and eating delicious food at Underbelly.

+Attempting to recover from being sick for the better part of the last week and, therefore, going to sleep way to early every night. My allergies have announced it to be spring in Texas and I need them to chill out.

+Learning that my new site design should be ready in the next two weeks! I can’t wait to share with all of you everything we have been working on over the past couple of months.

French Bulldog

This week was a lot of fun. You have probably seen that I had quite a few adventures in New Orleans last weekend, and this weekend I will have a few more celebrating a friend’s birthday tonight and Valentine’s Day tomorrow in Dallas (which means consuming lots and lots of good food). I hope you all had a chance to read this week’s edition of Amongst the Chatter, where I am talking about one of the fundamental elements of everyday adventure: celebrating life. Happy Weekend everyone, hope it is great!

This week, my adventures included:

+ Attending my first Mardi Gras (which was a huge success), watching lots of parades and trying out Spirit Airlines for the first time.

+ Becoming completely obsessed with Downton Abbey. I know I am a bit behind the times by just starting to watch it now, but I have almost made it through the first two seasons. Does anyone else watch it?

+ Compiling lots of resources and information for my site redesign. I have been working on putting together a master list of resources for travel and everyday adventure the past couple of weeks, and finally got it to a place I am happy with. If you have any you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about them.

Cafe du Monde

Happy start to the weekend everyone! I hope you have all had everyday adventure and celebration filled weeks. With New York Fashion week and Mardi Gras kicking off this weekend, there are plenty of adventures to be had all over the place and I couldn’t be more excited.

This week, my adventures included:

+ Visiting the new Perot Museum in Dallas. It was an absolute ZOO while I was there last Saturday, but it was worth the visit. I really liked the building and how interactive all of the exhibits were (and loved the dinosaurs). The place will certainly host a lot of field trips in the future.

+ Catching up with one of my best friends over dinner and having some really intense conversations about life and what’s important. I always feel so happy and blessed to have people like her surrounding me in my life.

+ And I am just about to board a plane to head to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! Will have a full report on here next week.

Roam If You Want To

Happy happy Friday everyone! This week has absolutely flown by, been incredibly busy on the work front and has also been eventful outside of work as well. Next weekend I will be headed to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Anyone have any suggestions of places to go or restaurants to try? Not sure how much spare time I will have to explore, but I’d still love to hear your suggestions!

This week, my adventures included:

+ Discovering a new store in Dallas called Nicole Kwon in West Village. The store has something on everyone’s budget and some of the prettiest handmade jewelry I’ve seen from a variety of designers in New York.

+ Listening to this awesome (and hilarious) message at Watermark Church on dating myths. So many things to think about and great perspective on topics our society has decided are important that just really aren’t.

+ Tonight I am going to a Bollywood birthday bash and learning how to Bollywood dance! Wish me luck!

Coffee Outside

Oh my goodness this week wore me out, which is why this post is so late today! The weather has been nice in Dallas, and if it continues to behave I can’t wait to spend some time outside relaxing this weekend. Wishing you all adventure and fun-filled weekends!

This week, my adventures included:

+ Heading over to Fort Worth with a friend that was in town from DC to spend a little time in the city where we lived during college. It ended up being a perfect sunny day, so we sat outside at The Woodshed and had some creative BBQ from Chef Tim Love.

+ Booking my ticket to New Orleans for Mardi Gras (that counts as an adventure right?)! My roommate’s family is from there and they go every year, so I can’t wait to experience Mardi Gras in true and authentic style.
