Some Monday Motivation: Pools with A View

Pools with a View

Don’t all of these pools look amazing? With everyone around the office’s stories about Spring Break and the weather officially being warm, I can’t help but want to be at the beach or sitting by a pool with a view. I know I’ve already gushed about the place a hundred times, but my favorite pool with a view is at Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands. Their spa pool is on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea and it just doesn’t get much better than that. Where is your favorite pool with a view?

Some Monday Motivation: Life in Black and White

Life in Black and White

These black and white photos are reflective of my weekend: quiet, relaxing and refreshing. There is something beautiful about black and white photography when it is taken on the water, and these prints are no exception. I hope these photos are a nice way to start off your Monday!

All of these photos can be purchased using the links below and were all found by browsing artists’ shops on Etsy.

Some Monday Motivation: Caribbean Blue

Caribbean Blue

As Spring Break time is rapidly approaching, I can’t help but want to be at the beach surrounded by beautiful Caribbean blue water. Although I love the mountains, I really am a beach girl at heart and will almost always pick being at the ocean over anywhere else. I’ve been really fortunate to see some absolutely incredible colors of Caribbean blue from the British Virgin Islands, to the Turks and Caicos and Exuma in the Bahamas. I will shamefully admit that I have become a little bit of a beach snot from all of my travels and prefer to always visit water where you can easily see 20 or 30 feet below the surface. Where are your favorite places in the Caribbean?

Some Monday Motivation: Three Simple Rules

3 Simple Rules

I stumbled upon these 3 simple truths the other day and found each of them very motivating and important to remember. As I think about all of the change that has happened in my life in the past year, and the direction I am constantly pushing toward, I especially try to remember the third rule, to always step forward and confidently push toward the direction of my dreams. Hope these words resonate well this Monday morning!

Some Monday Motivation: Canadian Powder Skiing

Canadian Powder Skiing

Every year growing up, my family went skiing in the winter and hiking in the spring and fall. My dad is an avid adventurer and I know that much of my sense of adventure and wanting to see new places comes from him. He has pretty much tried every type of adventure you can think of: from being a scuba dive guide, to extreme skiing and rock climbing, hiking, white water rafting and I am sure about a million other things, my dad has instilled in me the importance of getting out in nature and enjoying the beauty of the world that is all around us.

On top of our yearly ski excursions, my dad spent time Snowcat skiing in the Canadian Rockies.  I don’t think I ever realized growing up that when I said goodbye to him when he was leaving for the airport, that he was about to go launch himself down some seriously steep mountains in unchartered territory.  [Read more…]

Some Monday Motivation: The Colors of Mardi Gras

Colors of Mardi Gras

My Monday Motivation this week is sharing a few of my pictures from a celebration filled weekend I just spent in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I will have my full recap on the blog on Wednesday detailing my insider experience. The colors that were on all of the floats, homes and of course beads represented just about every color of the spectrum imaginable, and were so fun to see. I was amazed by how elaborate and large some of the floats were. People put some serious thought and time into the theme of their floats, and it totally pays off seeing how much everyone enjoys watching the parades.

P.S. The picture in the bottom left is a tree that was near the balcony I watched one of the parades from on Saturday night. It had so many beads hanging from its branches that it looked like it was about to collapse!
