Some Monday Motivation: Pools with A View

Pools with a View

Don’t all of these pools look amazing? With everyone around the office’s stories about Spring Break and the weather officially being warm, I can’t help but want to be at the beach or sitting by a pool with a view. I know I’ve already gushed about the place a hundred times, but my favorite pool with a view is at Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands. Their spa pool is on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea and it just doesn’t get much better than that. Where is your favorite pool with a view?

This Week’s Everyday Adventures & A Few Links

Happy Weekend

Happy Spring Break week everyone! My office has been unusually quiet as people have headed out for a little break with their families. This weekend, I will be participating in some St. Patrick’s Day activities and enjoying the beautiful weather that has suddenly appeared in Dallas.

This week, my adventures included:

+ Cooking my first Thai recipe ever that was on the cover of Bon Appetit. I really love Thai soups that have coconut milk in them, so I thought I would take a stab at it. I would say it was a success!

+ Having so much extra energy because of the added hours of sunshine each day! I have spent some quality time on restaurant patios (including trying this one), taking some long walks outside and making a couple of shopping runs to my favorite areas.

+ Guest posting on Elizabeth’s blog about my “Perfect Day in Punta del Este.” If you haven’t already had a chance to check it out, you should!

Some Monday Motivation: Life in Black and White

Life in Black and White

These black and white photos are reflective of my weekend: quiet, relaxing and refreshing. There is something beautiful about black and white photography when it is taken on the water, and these prints are no exception. I hope these photos are a nice way to start off your Monday!

All of these photos can be purchased using the links below and were all found by browsing artists’ shops on Etsy.

This Week’s Everyday Adventures & A Few Links

Up Coffee Table

I’m hoping that this will be the weekend that I get a grip on my schedule, have some serious R&R and really just get organized. So far, the stars seem to be aligning for that to happen and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever been quite so excited to just be lazy. Wishing you all a very happy Friday!

This week, my adventures included:

+Spending last weekend in Houston and eating delicious food at Underbelly.

+Attempting to recover from being sick for the better part of the last week and, therefore, going to sleep way to early every night. My allergies have announced it to be spring in Texas and I need them to chill out.

+Learning that my new site design should be ready in the next two weeks! I can’t wait to share with all of you everything we have been working on over the past couple of months.

Some Monday Motivation: Caribbean Blue

Caribbean Blue

As Spring Break time is rapidly approaching, I can’t help but want to be at the beach surrounded by beautiful Caribbean blue water. Although I love the mountains, I really am a beach girl at heart and will almost always pick being at the ocean over anywhere else. I’ve been really fortunate to see some absolutely incredible colors of Caribbean blue from the British Virgin Islands, to the Turks and Caicos and Exuma in the Bahamas. I will shamefully admit that I have become a little bit of a beach snot from all of my travels and prefer to always visit water where you can easily see 20 or 30 feet below the surface. Where are your favorite places in the Caribbean?

Some Monday Motivation: Canadian Powder Skiing

Canadian Powder Skiing

Every year growing up, my family went skiing in the winter and hiking in the spring and fall. My dad is an avid adventurer and I know that much of my sense of adventure and wanting to see new places comes from him. He has pretty much tried every type of adventure you can think of: from being a scuba dive guide, to extreme skiing and rock climbing, hiking, white water rafting and I am sure about a million other things, my dad has instilled in me the importance of getting out in nature and enjoying the beauty of the world that is all around us.

On top of our yearly ski excursions, my dad spent time Snowcat skiing in the Canadian Rockies.  I don’t think I ever realized growing up that when I said goodbye to him when he was leaving for the airport, that he was about to go launch himself down some seriously steep mountains in unchartered territory.  [Read more…]
